oh wells. looks like i haven't been updating much. i guess i'm pretty lazy. heh. prelims are finally over and done with as of tuesday, and results are slowly trickling in next week. don't want to get results for some subjects back. hmm. suppose i don't need to name these, do I?
had JC talks today by AJC and NJC. these talks helped me realize that my time in cat high is coming to an end. yes, how fast 4 years has passed. amazing, isn't it? sometimes i remember how sec 1 was like so vividly and here i am in sec 4, about to take the O levels in around 3 months. only helps to serve as an alarm i guess.
somehow i've been getting into this nostalgic mood. have no idea why too. perhaps its time for me to wake up..

hello all. a week of prelim has passed. let's do a paper-by-paper analysis starting with SS on tues, shall we?
SS on tues wasn't too bad. decontextualised SBCS came out. no wonder danny tan placed so much emphasis on it. someone's dropping hints huh? venice and good governance came out for SEQ. did venice because i mainly focused on it. hope to get high marks for this paper although it's SS after all.
e maths paper 1 on wed. not too bad, quite manageable considering i didn't have a calculator. need to get as many marks as possible for that paper. e maths paper 2 yesterday, wasn't too bad too. got tricked by the probablility question. pissed me off. never mind.
today i had physics, chem and history. i must say i studied much much more for physics this time round. finished the paper very quickly and everything was filled. another first i guess? :D chem wasn't too bad too. quite easy too.
now here comes the killer. HISTORY. because i spent so much time on physics i somehow "neglected" history. moreover i spotted the wrong topics! i spotted cold war, stalin's five year plans and fall of communism and guess what? germany (streseman and weimar) and russia (1917 revolution came out). grr. at least i read up a bit on germany so i did the germany question. don't think i'll do well though..
spotted wrongly for malayan history too. i thought communism in malaya and perak would come out. i focused more on the former, and it didn't come out as usual. what came out was malayan union and british intervention in perak. did the former because it was tested before and i still remember much of it. again, i don't think i'll do well. never really liked malayan history anyway. it's too dry for me.
i guess today's the first time all the people taking history spotted the wrong topic. hmm..

well, it seems i'm neglecting this place again i guess. haha. prelims have officially started today. english paper 1 and paper 2. held in the hall which suffers from a screwed-up a/c system. the thing refuses to work properly. it was warm during paper 1 and freezing during paper 2.
paper 1 wasn't too bad. letter writing was a formal, argumentative piece. no wonder the teachers concentrated so much on formal letters this term. so bala was secretly dropping hints huh? wrote a compo based on "i haven't seen you in years!". Will transcribe once i get it back and if i find the free time. i think its a little too cliched though, not kidding.
had a break of 10 mins. grabbed something to eat. paper 2 after that. was pleasantly suprised to see the question paper as it was about aviation and transport, my pet topics. challenging, yes, but definitely manageable. although i know i got some questions wrong already. never mind.
ss tomorrow. my hated subject. sheesh

hello everyone. prelims are in 6 days. kinda sad. this time i must do so much better. my weekend was boring. as usual. spent the WHOLE saturday at RJC. 11am to 11pm. god knows how tired and relieved i was when i reached home.
school has become more boring. t goh has become much much nicer after youth day. hmm. perhaps our attitudes have improved? depends. hope this continues on. feels like i'm actually learning something now i guess. i'm kinda bored nowadays, so as usual, nothing much to blog about.

hello all. chinese oral today. wasn't that bad after all. although i think i spoke too little for the conversation topics. reading was on "courtesy on the MRT", and the conversation topics were on "some caucasian men do talkshow in fluent chinese, what do you think?" and "do you do housework and do you think only females should do housework?". yup. wasn't really a killer.
other than that the past two days have been mundane. nothing more but usual school stuff. will be stuck at RJC the whole day on sat, due to some model UN conference. quite sad eh, having my weekends burnt just like that.
-out!

ok. i'm back after a really, really long hiatus. so much has happened over the past few weeks that i haven't been blogging. but first, i must talk about the upcoming prelims right? 2.5 weeks to go. i have to really start mugging. 1am every night at least. i might die the next morning from tiredness but it's better than doing nothing..
youth day was suprisingly pleasant. alice came in and gave us cakes tho we'd be missing her lesson. thian told us she had a party planned for us (and in turn blackmailing us :-D, we have to get A1 for hist). t goh came in and gave out chocolates. first time that he actually spent about 25 mins talking about himself. really amazing transformation. perhaps he felt our attitude has been improving so he's nicer to us i guess. either way, i'm not sure myself. mogu came in and gave out a pack of potato chips / prawn crackers to everyone, and perhaps to suan us, included two strepsils lozenges. after all, our CL oral is on wed.
youth day concert organized by the teachers was quite interesting. never knew that almond yao was so popular amongst the sec 1s. lolx. suprised to see wangj and angelin tay singing a chinese song in their JC uniforms (they still keep the uniforms??). wangj's from AJC and a tay from NJC, judging from the uniform. lu qin sang an english song. not too bad considering her english standard is really CMI.
pereira performed with his guitar. imo, it'd be better if he sung. next was some imovie. as usual ecnerret got its 2 mins of fame. they are getting quite famous in the school i must admit. up next was a dance performed by alice long, yeo poong poh, lu qin, almond yao, esther ding. hmmmm.. never knew alice could dance. and she dedicated this to the 3 classes she teaches. through lim sing gee (the emcee) of course.
the rest, i have not much to say. ian chew sang quite well, the taiji was a total letdown, and amusingly david chen used the TV to sing karaoke. perhaps too old to remember the lyrics properly? he tried to suck up to LHB by dedicating the song to him (atonement for falling asleep in class and getting caught by yours truly? :-P )
indian dance was spectacular. all the lady teachers performing were newbies. endang is good. seow wee acting cute and looked unnatural as usual. the climax has to be this indian bugger with a moustache (fake one). the poor bugger was danny tan :-D they kept shaking and shaking in true indian style. wonder why they never asked bala, krishnan, the two fernandezes and saras to go perform. it'd be more authentic!
CL listening on sat. everyone's answers were SOOOOOOOO vastly different. :S seems like o levels this year is out to kill us. first, the chinese paper 1 and 2, then now, the chinese LC. hmmm..
out!
